Footloose

June 3-20, 2027

Stage Adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie
Music by Tom Snow
Lyrics by Dean Pitchford

When Ren moves to a small town where music and dancing have been banned, he quickly finds himself at the center of a struggle between tradition and self-expression. As tensions rise, the town is forced to confront its fears, its grief, and the voices it has tried to silence.

Driven by a high-energy score and unforgettable songs, Footloose is a powerful story about listening across generations, finding your voice, and the courage it takes for a community to move forward together.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school.  What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.  The show is best suited to teens and adults.
