Volunteer Costume Crew

Do you love theatre and want to be a part of the magic that goes into putting on a production? Then we welcome you to join our new Volunteer Costume Crew!

As we embark on our 55th Season, after a long hiatus, the Market House Theatre Costume Shop will resume designing and building costumes for all productions, in house! This presents a tremendous opportunity for those individuals with an interest in costuming to join our new Volunteer Costume Crew. There are several large shows in the upcoming season that will engage all manner of skill sets.

For example, Beauty and the Beast, Jr. will allow you to get your craft on while A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will feed the fashion historian's soul.

Also, with The Next Stage project rapidly approaching, we will be cataloging, packing and moving the costume shop to its temporary location. Those who love organization will be needed for that undertaking!

What will I be doing?

Members of the Crew will learn all aspects of costuming for theatre, including hand and machine stitching, garment construction techniques specific to costumes, creature craft, millinery, terminology, theatre and costume shop etiquette, designing and documenting a costume plot, and so much more!

Members of the Crew will actively participate in building costumes for Signature and Family Series shows, as well as pieces for the Playtime series and summer camp performances. All skill levels are welcome but you must be 14 and older with a willingness to learn!

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 28th and 5:30 PM in MHT's Event Building. Hope to see you there!

This crew will be led by our new costuming staff: Angela Hoerner, Designer, and Brittany Brown, Shop Manager.
