June 2 - 12, 2022: Bright Star by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell

Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s Bright Star tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of North Carolina in the 1920s and ’40s.  Young soldier Billy Cane, just home from World War II, returns to his hometown in North Carolina where he continues his journey to become a writer.   Asheville Southern Journal editor Alice Murphy begins to mentor Billy, creating a friendship that ultimately leads to a surprising connection in the past for them both.   A rich tapestry of deep emotion,  beautiful melodies, and joyful characters result in an uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp.
